Matt, For some of that sound you were talking about today in class, check out Bee Thousand and Propeller by Guided by Voices. Those are the classic albums, but my favorites also include Mag Earwhig! and Universal Truths and Cycles. Also, I have a hunch that Whatever, Mortal by Dave Pajo is right up your alley, too. Sort of like a guy used to making noisy rock picked up an acoustic guitar and turned out some folk music in his kitchen. Let me know what you think about it.
